Welcome to MJM Ranch, home of the original hand-painted stick horse!
Modeled after the beautiful Arabian breed, these stick horses are truly unique. They are cut from hard pressed particle board, (which is 100% recycled wood, and has no grain to crack across when dropped) and sanded smooth. This type of board also gives the horse’s coat a slight texture, which adds to the realistic look. They are painted with acrylic paints, and sealed with Krylon sealer. Their manes are made of high quality Kanekalon hair, rooted firmly and guaranteed never to shed. There are no nails or metal parts anywhere on any of the horses. Each horse stands approximately 4 feet tall, with the stick. As all of the horses are hand painted, no two are ever the same. I have been perfecting my style of painting over many years, and take much pride in the fact that my horses look real, right down to the depth of the eye.
Your horse will be painted and finished soon after you order it, normally about three days. It won’t be EXACTLY like the one in the picture, but so close you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. That’s what makes them special…they are each unique! NOTE: I have done a bit of redesigning lately, and my horses now have sculptured nostrils, a more defined mouth, and the eyes are so real, you will get lost in the depths!
Custom orders are also accepted, so if you have a special color you would like, send me a picture.
If you will be ordering more than two horses, please let me know, so I can get an updated shipping cost for you. At this time, I cannot give a discount for purchasing multiple items.
I have always made these lovely horses with the stick glued in. Up until recently, I have had wonderful service from the USPS. Unfortunately, after several broken sticks, I have made the decision to make them without the stick glued in. This means that you have a couple of choices concerning your purchase. You may order just the head, which means that you will have to purchase your own 1/2″ dowel, paint it, and glue it in. This option is standard in all the listings, and ships for $12.35 in a flat rate priority box. You may also purchase the head and the stick, already painted, and do your own gluing. For the option to add the stick, you will need to buy the “Add a stick” listing, found in my Etsy store. This also adds $2 for the stick, and $3 to add to the shipping.
I have been making these beautiful horses for over 15 years, and one is even on display in the World’s Largest Stick Horse Collection at Dolly Parton’s Dollywood!
Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.
Attention International Buyers!
I am happy to ship wherever you are..but have found that because of the length, shipping costs are outrageous. Purchasing only the head, without a stick, lessens the shipping costs considerably. Either way, Priority Mail is very expensive, so I will also ship them First Class International. Convo me with your shipping info, and I will make you a custom listing to reflect the correct shipping cost.
Note: Please don’t copy my horses. I realize that imitation is the best form of flattery…but I’d rather you didn’t.
